Geophysical Survey
LandScope provides an integrated geophysical survey service with emphasis on campaign design so that your project benefits from an appropriate technical approach. Multi-sensor data sets can be compared, manipulated and 3D visualised during the post-processing stage to ensure that maximum value is derived from your data. We specialise in most aspects of geophysical survey including resistivity, magnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and electro-magnetics. Geophysical survey applications predominantly include:
Geo-referenced Dual EM-61 Mk2 Data Acquisition
- Pre-engineering design survey
- Depth to bedrock profiling
- Voids and karst feature
- Permafrost Mapping
- Soil Moisture mapping for agriculture / sports pitches or courses
- Soil type and contamination mapping
- Landfill Liner Leak Location
- Borehole geophysics
- Cross hole seismic tomography
- Shallow mine-workings
- Foundations and structures
- Pile locations
- Shallow caves and voids
- Underground river or culvert
- Underground infrastructure mapping
- Metallic conductive cables
- Non-conductive cables e.g. fibre optics
- Non-metallic pipes e.g. Polyethylene (PE) and PVC
- Metallic pipes
- Ceramic and clay pipes e.g. sewers
- Concrete/brick culverts
- Underground storage tanks
- Archaeological investigation
- Ground mapping for near surface archaeological features
- Kilns and areas of burning
- Walls and ditches
- Round house and enclosures
- Graves and buried remains
- Ploughed out earth works
- Any metallic deposits
- Field and boundary systems
- Complimentary to aerial photography
- Buried structures

- Underground storage tanks
- Identification of UXO
- Shallow aquifer
- Weathering in faults and fractures
- Saltwater intrusion
It should however be noted that the above does not form an exhaustive list. We are available to discuss specific applications and design appropriate solutions to our customer's requirements.
Whereas traditional geophysical surveys have relied on time consuming gridding and rope alignments our emphasis on the integration of real-time positioning to geophysical acquisition allows LandScope to acquire accurately geo-referenced data within a reduced timeframe. In addition to this LandScope has been at the forefront of further increasing efficiency by introducing the Geophysical Equipment Exploration Platform. This enables multiple sensors to record coordinated data simultaneously, dramatically reducing time spent in the field.
