LandScope completes Integrated Survey on Devon Coast

10th April, 2015

LandScope Engineering has recently completed a multi-discipline survey project on the Devon coastline for the purposes of coastal flood prevention and beach management.

A high accuracy GNSS network was observed across a number of Environment Agency E2 benchmarks. Topographical survey data was acquired on a number of slipway “breach points” along the coastline utilising Trimble S8 Total Stations.

The autoMAP Mobile Mapping system was used to acquire data on Dawlish Warren beach at low tide, as well as along the local road network. We also acquired LiDAR data and ortho-rectified imagery from a UAV system across Dawlish Warren beach and the mudflats at Star Cross.
