Showcasing our UAV Versatility

26th September, 2016

LandScope Engineering, along with DMandS, have been busy in recent weeks carrying out UAV surveys at two sites in Anglesey and Woodford Halse.

LandScope worked alongside DMandS to ensure the flight was conducted at the best time to achieve optimised results. Considerations included; the installation of Ground Control Points across the site, the good British weather and the crop cover in soft areas due to scheduling around harvesting times.

This non-contact data capture technique offered a fast data acquisition for both projects, producing high resolution, ortho-rectified aerial images, video and digital tertian models.

The application of UAV over large survey areas is becoming increasingly beneficial for projects such as:

  • feasibility studies for routing pipelines and carriageways
  • environmental modelling and flood alleviation schemes
  • site specific surveys e.g. quarries.
