Concrete Structure Investigation

17th July, 2017

LandScope has recently completed a structural investigation at a large scale residential site under construction in High Wycombe to map concrete cover over reinforcing elements within floor slabs.

Given the large survey area, a ground penetrating radar (GPR) system with an array of eight 1.0GHz antennae was utilised to enable rapid data collection in comparison to conventional GPR.

To efficiently manage the large volume of data provided by the acquisition method, in-house software programming and batch processing was set up along with rigorous QC checks.

A staggering 38,200 points were sampled from the dataset and survey results were presented as a contoured surface clearly comparing variable depth of cover above reinforcing.
