Concrete Structure Investigation
A radar survey provides an exceptionally effective method of mapping elements of interest within cast concrete structures. High frequency antennae, in conjunction with other NDT equipment, are used to provide high resolution images and measurements both within and beyond the concrete structure to identify structural elements and reinforcing spacing, orientation, cover and diameter.
For large areas multiple antennas can be used as an array for maximum efficiency. This combination of techniques can be used to map the following:
• Reinforcing elements, e.g. rebar configuration
• Stitch bars and tie rods
• Slab thickness and reinforcing cover
• Non-invasive corrosion evaluation of reinforced concrete

• Voiding and honey-combing within spray cast concrete
• Ground beams and pile caps
