LandScope Supports HS2 with Mobile GPR for Highways Asset Management

5th July, 2018

LandScope Engineering recently completed a Mobile Ground Penetrating Radar survey in North West London to support our clients traditional utility survey works for HS2. The client required shallow subsurface investigations therefore the project was designed around the deployment of our custom built UTSI GroundVue3 based mobile ground penetrating radar system enabling collection of high resolution GPR data over large areas. This approach offered an extremely efficient means of data collection within the highways and large hard standing areas as there was no requirement for traffic management.

Working closely with our client, LandScope were able to supply an integrated 3D drawing incorporating utility mapping with a detailed carriageway and pavement survey. All GPR features of interest were extracted and fully georeferenced with their correct position and depth.

Due to the success of this project we are due to complete a similar,  dual carriageway based, survey in the Midlands in the coming weeks.
